Design and Construction of Pumping Installations for Amu Darya River Water Transmission to Andkhoy City (JV and EPC Contract):

Location:

North-west of Afghanistan and khoy city is located on north of Afghanistan close to the border with Turkmenistan at the very north point of Faryab province.

Project details:

This project intends to provide 50 litres/sec water for Andkhoy city and its neighboring villages, and consists of:

120 km polyethylene pipe PE-100 in 180-355mm diameters

1 reservoir with the capacity of 12,000 m3, 2 concrete reservoirs with the capacity of 500 m3and 4 elevated reservoirs with the capacity of 50 m3 (10 to 25 meter).

3 pump stations for supplying a discharge of 50 lit/sec to Andkhoy city and surrounding village sand Power consumption is 1.7 Megawatt - Water resource: 2 wells near Amu Darya

Project objectives:

In this project, Toossab was the partner of the Afghan EPC Contractor, Mumtaz Construction Company, Toossab main duties included: Data collection, ground survey of the route, hydraulic design analysis, design of pump stations and reservoirs, preparation of transfer route plan and profile, preparation of working drawings and detail design, preparation of technical reports, assembling the main parts of the project, QC of construction works, provision of value engineering approaches.
