Feasibility Studies of Desalination of Oman Sea Water and its transmission to Yazd Province:
Clinet:
Kowsar Institute of Yazd
Project details:
Initially, considering the intended uses for water transmission, studies are needed to determine the water requirements and the allocation is needed for water abstraction from the sea. Then the location of the intake construction from the Persian Gulf or Oman Sea as well as the Desalination plant will be specified. The water pipeline routing will be done at this location and eventually the location of the pumping stations and reservoir will be determined. Initial design of the intake and Desalination plant will be based on the take of 500 million cubic meters of fresh water per year and the design of the water pipeline with an approximate length of 720 km will be carried out to transmit 250 million cubic meters of desalinated water per year.
Project objectives:
These studies include Hydrological, Geological, Environmental, Mechanical, IWRM, Social, Economic, Geotechnical, Electrical and Civil studies.
